I’ve been neglecting my finds of the week lately and that is NOT good.  So with that being said, a couple of AMAZING deals. This week’s theme as you can see is concentrating on shoes and boots…one for the boys and one for the ladies. Common Projects Bball lows - these retail for over $250! How to succeed in the recession...
“Uniqlo is basically a Pantone-hued commodity, making it a perfect fit for both highly sophisticated and completely disengaged fashion consumers.” This is probably one of the better articles I have encountered over the past couple of months.  I have blogged about Uniqlo before and how successful they have been but have never commented on the underlying stigma that a significant...

So many different things to read on the...
One of my favourite blogs currently is Selectism and you will see many of my references towards some of their postings and articles.  As usual they have come through with yet another stellar finding of what and how to wear certain things.  As we get older our styles change.  We mature, we look for different things and our tastes go in different directions.  One of the few constants for men with...

Engineered Garments.
Caveat…this blog entry will only be for a few and mainly because this is one of my favourite brands that not everyone will ultimately “get”.  Engineered Garments is a brand out of NYC, made entirely in NYC.  Their designs and fabrics are pretty much unbeaten and their outerwear is some of the best I have ever purchased.  With that being said, it is not often I get to read about...

Marlon Brando...
For some reason Marlon Brando reminds me of my dad.  I don’t know why, there is just something about him.  His confidence, his calm and just his plain coolness.  LIFE Magazine did a photo shoot of Brando while he was on set for a little known movie called “The Men”.  I have to say the way Brando dresses each and everytime is perfect.  He actually gives credence to the word...

Canadian Content...like the CRTC but for Fashion!
If you’ve been to Holts you’ve seen their pieces.  If you follow fashion you know they’re Canadian.  Dsquared2 are two twin brothers from Willowdale, Ontario and have made some pretty big headlines in the fashion world.  With a cult like following, not only in Canada but across the world, you would think these two would let fame go to their heads.  Instead, they remain grounded...

"Obsession...Socks"...by Happy Socks.
I hate holes.  If I could, I would wear a brand new pair of socks everyday.  But lets be honest that’s just a tad overboard and some would say obsessive compulsive.  With that being said, there is something about putting on a new pair of socks that just screams comfort.  I came across this sock company a while ago, Happy Socks (I’m constantly looking for new and interesting socks),...

Small enough for a child, made for a woman...
Should I be surprised?  Not anymore, as two of my friends last week showed me purchases from the Gap Kids Stella McCartney line.  We now know that when a mainstream brand teams up with a high end designer it usually means instant “hype” and obviously a nice little blip in sales, case in point every H&M collab.  With that being said, what was once sacred for only the adult stores,...

Gitman Vintage
It’s not often I get to read interesting articles on some of my favourite brands, Gitman Vintage being one of them.  I have always been interested in the feel, look and fit of fabric and the following interview addesses all of these.  It’s always amazing to see how some lines are put together specifically looking at previous lines from years back, “What do they say about the...

Tuesdays finds of the week!
So I have decided to dedicate tuesdays to finding those posts that are either unbelievably good deals or just interesting fashion finds that you won’t find anywhere else other than on shopmy.  There will be something for the ladies and something for the boys.  This week I have found some great pieces and as users post more and more I can tell you that every week will get better and...

“I had a Chanel heart attack!”
I don’t think I’ve seen a better quote in a long time.  Growing up my mom liked, scartch that, LOVED to shop.  This is probably about the time when I started to become so fascinated with fashion. Now over the years, my tastes have matured, I’ve grown out of and into different brands but the one constant that I am always amazed by is the power of the luxury brand.  For the most...

Band of Outsiders.
Plain and simple Band of Outsiders is my favourite brand around.  The perfect fit, incredible fabric and the utmost attention to detail.  I have slowly accumulated a number of oxfords and button downs over the years and there is NO other brand I would rather wear. Just reading the following article you will see how much thought, creativity and construction is put into each and every article of...

The Hills and City Finale.
Yes I know we are predominantly a fashion blog but there are just some instances when you can combine both a little pop and a little fashion. Alright.  So here is my synopsis of the Hills Finale. Kristin and JB…Yes. Brody and Jade…No. Heidi and Spencer + 1…Potentially. I hope to never be named Sleezy T and have that said at my engagement party.  And we need more Frankie. ...

Shoes...
I thought I obsessed about shoes but I am DEFINITELY beat by the bloggers at Jak and Jil.  I am pure amateur compared to them.  When you get a chance visit this blog as they have some of the more interesting and nicer shots of women’s shoes.  Truly a great blog if you love looking at shoes and by god I do.
